Hellebores

Well, it's that time of the year for one of the earliest blooming plants to start.  Hellebores are a great four season interest plant.  This photo was taken today, 1/26/12.  The leaves are tough like rhododendron and stay green all year.  In the mid-winter they will start to bloom and can last into the spring, some varieties start earlier.  The blooms are a welcome sight at this time of the year to add interest and to get things going in our gardens.  A bit pricey but well worth the display that they keep on giving.  Look for them in your better garden centers.                                 Hellebore Information: Link 1,  Link 2,  Link 3.
